Talking about the best, we went out and caught up with Malini Ramani, one of the most “looked-up-to” figures in the fashion industry. A complete people's person, a US citizen with Sindhi genes, she continues to inspire people not only in fashion but as a spiritual speaker too. Aroon Shivdasani, a fusion of the east and the west, came highly recommended from our source in New York. Though family has always been her priority, she continues to work for the Indo American Arts Council of New York (an NGO). Having once had tea with Prince Charles and Camilla, Nina Advani reminded us politely that she was very much part of the Maharashtra State Women's Council (MSWC). Known to be their most glamorous President, we found that she has proved her mettle. Considering all the talk about music festivals in India, we decided to focus on the very prominent Percept Group. We found and spoke with Karan Singh, who is the current CEO of Sunburn, Asia's largest music festival. The energetic 73-year-old head of the Unati Mandal, Kaushi Mirpuri, surprised us with her zest for life and the community. Dynamic young entrepreneur Gaurav Assomull caught our attention owing to his unique business. Co-founder at Intergen Energy Ltd, he shares his travails into India with us. Indira Bhojwani's knowledge of the healing properties of gems led us to find out more. Aiming to be the best, Karan Khiani, a hotelier running a successful business enterprise celebrates life, and being Sindhi. With so many career experiences to talk about, Vikram Ramchandani, co-founder of a branding firm and a garment company, came across as determined and level headed. Sanjay Kummarr Gagnani, hailing from a small town in Gujarat, chose to be a model/actor. Watch out for this entertainer! Completely worth a mention are the six people who made it into The Sindhian's discoveries - Malvika Vaswani - co-founder of a design studio, Aditya Balani- an immensely talented jazz musician, Ruchita Tahiliani - performer turned model, Tanvi Mehra - dancer and yogi, Ekta Khialani - co-founder of a property styling firm, and Adarsh Munjal - a distinctive food blogger.
