Dear Readers,
In a span of less than 10 years we at You & I have set a record of being the first ever English weekly and national lifestyle magazine in India to complete 500 issues. And right from the beginning, I’ve always felt there’s nothing we can’t do. We put in the same effort into the making of each and every issue in terms of content, editing, photography, graphic, and printing. Right from the first issue to the 500th, there’s been nothing less or nothing more.
Our theme for this issue is Royalty and who better than
Deepika Padukone to don our cover, in a stunning Sabyasachi saree. Just like the roles she portrays in her reel life, in real life too she is nothing short of majestic. Read more about the actress in

This month’s Feature is about all those royals across the globe who truly live life with a silver spoon. From the European royals to the Middle Eastern ones, and even Thailand’s royalty, we talk about how each one proves to live life king size.
A gemstone that was loved and adorned by many a prince and princesses of the world, including the Queen of England in her crown, rubies are said to be the king of gems, and rightly so. Take a look at the Special Feature that is written by my beloved sister, Zakia Farooqui, and be prepared to fall under the spell of the red gemstone.
While talking about royalty one can’t miss a mention of the Alsisar Haveli --- A heritage hotel in Jaipur. A palace turned heritage hotel, it dates back to an era where maharajas and maharanis lived opulent lives. The palatial hotel, featured in this month’s Sensational Spaces, features a whole lot of antique artefacts and paintings and period furniture. This one’s worth a read.
Another one that can’t be missed is the Hot Wheels section that features five celebrities who own classic cars that age way more than the people themselves! Grand Getaways takes us back in time to an era when the means of transport used by royal families, both in India and abroad, was palanquins and chariots. We also have two women belonging to the royal families of Gaekwad and Baroda, namely, HH Maharani Radhika Raje Gaekwad and Princess Rajyashree Kumari, in People. They both speak to us about what it is like to be royalty in this day and age, and what about their culture intrigues them most.
Lastly, In the Spotlight is fitness expert and wife of Founder of Raymond Ltd, Nawaz Modi Singhania. Here she speaks about her journey into fitness and life beyond work.
