A sub-user is an additional login or child account to your publication, who has limited access to the application according to their role. The PARENT Publisher can create a sub-users and assign different roles to them.

Invite a sub-user

  1. In header, click on 'Sub Users' link under ' Manage'.
  2. On Sub Users Page, click on '+Add Sub User' button to add a new sub-user.
  3. On Creation page, invite new sub-users by assigning different roles and Authorization to publications.
  4. After invitation, an email will be sent to sub-user mail address mentioned. The email will be used to login by the sub-user.

Create sub-user account

  1. Click on link sent in email, which will directed to readwhere login/register page.
  2. Complete the registration.
  3. After completing registration, log-in into Readwhere-Publisher with sub-user login credentials.

Note: 'Sub Users' link(in header) will not be displayed to Sub Users. Also, 'My Domain' link will appear to ADMINISTRATOR only.

Types and Roles defined for sub-users

Administrator

The Administrator sub-user has all rights same as the original parent account, except he/she can't create sub-users.

Sub Admin

  • Create Publication - No
  • Edit Publication - Yes
  • Create Issue - Yes
  • Edit Issue - Yes
  • Delete Issue- Yes
  • Statistics are not displayed to the user.

Editor

  • Create Publication - No
  • Edit Publication - Yes
  • Create Issue - No
  • Edit Issue - Yes
  • Delete Issue- No
  • Statistics are not displayed to the user.

Publisher

  • Create Publication - No
  • Edit Publication - No
  • Create Issue - Yes
  • Edit Issue - No
  • Delete Issue- No
  • Statistics are not displayed to the user.

Data Analytics

  • Create Publication - No
  • Edit Publication - No
  • Create Issue - No
  • Edit Issue - No
  • Delete Issue- No
  • Statistics and Sales of all Publications will be displayed to the sub-user.

Edit a sub-user account

  1. Created sub-users list will display on Sub-user landing page.
  2. 'Edit' button will appear at the end of every sub-users, on hovering mouse over any sub-user.
  3. Click on Edit button will open the editing page for that sub-user, from where sub-user's password, email address, User Type, Authorization to Publications can be changed.

Suspend a sub-user account

  1. Created sub-users list will display on Sub-user landing page.
  2. 'Suspend' button will appear at the end of every sub-users, on hovering mouse over any sub-user. 'Suspend' button will also displayed on Edit page.
  3. Clicking on 'Suspend' button will suspend the sub-user temporarily.
  4. After the account is suspended, sub-user will not be able to login into Readwhere-Publisher.
  5. Since a sub-user is account is also a readwhere user account, the Shelf and Clips section of readwhere will still be visible to the user.

Re-activate a sub-user account

  1. After suspending any sub-user, 'Re-Activate' button will display instead of 'Suspend' button next to the user. A suspended user can be re-activated from the same.
  2. Clicking 'Re-Activate button will activate the sub-user account again.
