This past month was a busy busy one. In addition to all the sorting and collating of over 1000 entries for the TRENDS Awards, we had two very eventful jury meets. A big thank you to our pre-jurors: Rajeev Thakker, Zarir Mullan, Tushar Desai and Ayaz Basrai, for their time, and for preparing a shortlist from entries submitted. The judging process was taxing but we are forever grateful to them for their time and for being happy campers over the two-day grueling schedule. The main jury - Sen Kapadia, Kapil Gupta, Shimul Javeri Kadri and Bose Krishnamachari, Ambrish Arora judged remotely - met a week after and passionately deliberated on the winners and the commendations. This year too, we stayed true to our promise, which forms the fundamental basis of the TRENDS Awards – to acknowledge the best, without compromise. The results will be announced towards the end of March at the TRENDS Awards gala in Mumbai. And there will be a special awards issue soon after. So stay tuned. As always, in this month’s issue, we bring a diverse range of all things design. There are rarely seen sketches by iconic architects, a fascinating interview with acclaimed designer Benjamin Hubert, and insightful industry revelations by this month’s select group that includes Orijit Sen, Krsna Mehta, Lekha Washington, Jimmy Mistry amongst others. Shabnam Gupta of The Orange Lane is our guest columnist this month. And of course, the best of TRENDS residential and commercial spaces. Enjoy.
