71 years ago, India won its independence after a long and struggling fight with the British Raj. On August 15, 1947, Jawaharlal Nehru, the first Prime Minister of independent India spoke to the citizens about the decades-long struggle and the non-violent campaign used against the British. Back then, there were only 11 provinces in the country, but now there are 29 states and 7 union territories, each of which had their own share of struggle for attaining independence.
