About this issue

Mutual fund industry has strengthened the capital market by mobilizing huge amounts from a large section of investors towards equity market. It has provided impetus to the Indian financial market. A mutual fund has become an important source of investment for small investors. They prefer mutual fund investment than direct investing in the equity market. Mutual fund industry has hit more than 30 million mutual fund folios and has covered over 400 cities and towns. Financial markets are influenced by the ‘financial behaviour’ of these investors. This study has, therefore, made an attempt to examine the related aspects of investor behavior to understand the attitude and perception of investors towards mutual funds.
