Organisations in the modern days are undergoing heavy transformation in the wake of industrialisation and globalisation. In order to be competitive, organisations need realtime information on their orders, materials, production, costs etc., to increase the efficiency of information systems. There has been an increasing need in organisations to connect the information supplied by each department into a single common entity. Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems are designed to address this problem of fragmentation as they integrate and streamline internal processes by providing a suite of software modules that cover all functional areas of business. Employee Self Service (ESS) system is a part of ERP which solves all human resource functions. Using an ESS system, an employee can apply leave, loan and performance appraisal on line and also receive the result online. This research paper tries to analyze employee’s perception and the effects of Employee Self Service (ESS) system through ERP and Systems, Applications and Products (SAP) in Odisha Mining Corporation Ltd., India. It has mapped its business processes on the SAP in different functions.
