About this issue

Highlights of India Today Telugu issue dated 13th November 2012 carried cover story on state 'Congress Party in distress' and the impact of recent central cabinet reshuffle. This story was exclusively for India Today Telugu. The story says how the union cabinet shuffle compounded problems for the ruling party in Andhra Pradesh. For the Congress it is the last ditch stand to retain power in Andhra Pradesh after the 2014 general election. It has doubled the representation for Andhra Pradesh in the Manmohan Singh ministry by inducting five more MPs, including the PRP founder – turned – Congressman K. Chiranjeevi, and elevated another Kapu caste politician, M.M. Pallam Raju, as the new cabinet minister for Human Resources Development to woo the politically conscious community that is known to tilt the balance in every general election since the 1980s in its favour. Though Congress tried to woo Kapus and backward classes, will its strategy work out becomes questionable. This issue also carried Central cabinet's reshuffle story from IT English also.
