The month of Ramadan is special for Muslims throughout the world, as they fast and pray. It’s a time for contemplation, spirituality, peace and brotherhood with Eid ul-Fitr marking the end of Ramadan. There is a celebratory air all around, and on this joyous occasion families, friends and neighbours get together. With the lockdown in effect, though there may have been no outside guests for iftar and no going out, however, it meant that families bonded with each other even more this year.
This issue’s cover captures the colours and festive spirit of Eid, too. Dressed in exquisite clothes and jewellery, we have an advocate, educationist, and actor Anjum Pasha gracing our cover. In this week’s Feature Story, we spoke to a few families in the city to find out what they had planned for Eid this year. They have given us a peek into their lives, so we can share their joy as they celebrate the festive occasion with social distancing!
