Patel News Brief Andhra Industries Minister’s Twitter account hacked Amaravati, Andhra Pradesh Industries Minister Mekapati Goutham Reddy on Saturday said his Twitter account has been compromised and unrelated messages are being posted. “Viewers and followers kindly note that my official Twitter account @mekapatigoutham has been compromised by some unscrupulous elements and they are posting unrelated and offensive material,” said Reddy. He apologised to the general public and told them to ignore the fake tweets being fired from his hacked account. “Kindly ignore them and apologies for the inconvenience,” said the minister. Meanwhile, he is preparing to lodge a complaint with the police department on this cyber offence. K’taka RTC employee ends life in Belagavi district Belagavi, As the Karnataka State Transport Employees League’s indefinite strike entered third day on Friday, an employee working with the North West Karnataka Road Transport Corporation (NWKRTC) had allegedly committed suicide by hanging at his house near here, police said.The incident took place at Saundatti taluk of Belagavi district, which is also the home district of Deputy Chief Minister Lakshman Savadi, who also holds the transport portfolio. WB polls: At least 4 dead in Cooch Behar violence New Delhi, Election Commission on Saturday adjourned polling at one booth in Sitalkurchi Assembly constituency under Cooch Behar district where four people were killed in the firing by the Central Armed Police Forces (CAPFs) personnel. Following the incident, the EC issued the order to adjourn the polls at Polling Station 126 of Sitalkurchi Assembly constituency. The poll panel’s move followed the reports submitted by Special Observers. A detailed report of the incident has been sought by the Chief Election Officer in West Bengal by 5 p.m. on Saturday. “The Commission hereby orders adjourning the poll in PS 126 of Sitalkurchi AC, Cooch Behar based on interim report from Special Observers. Detailed reports are sought from them and CEO by 5 p.m. today,” an EC official told IANS. As per preliminary reports, four persons were killed as CAPF personnel opened fire after coming under attack by locals in Sitalkurchi Assembly constituency area during ongoing fourth phase of elections in the state. According to sources, the incident took place at the polling booth in Sitalkuchi at around 10 a.m. when a Quick Response Team (QRT) were allegedly attacked by unidentified EC adjourns polling at PS 126 of Sitalkurchi persons. Five rounds of bullets were fired as the clash broke out when the QRT team along with local police which was clearing a crowd which reportedly was preventing voters from reaching polling booths, the source said. Meanwhile, the source said, a voter fell down and unidentified miscreants started to damage vehicle of QRT, and it led the CAPF personnel to fire bullets. Reacting to the incident, Trinamool Congress chief and West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee said: “We have been saying that the home ministry has been influencing the central forces and our worst fears have come true today. They have killed four people.” The TMC accused Bharatiya Janata Par ty (BJP) of the incident, saying the deceased was the saffron par ty ’s polling agent at the booth. “Since morning BJP miscreants were blocking people’s right to vote while CRPF was influencing voters to vote in favour of BJP. When TMC workers went to enquire why people were not being allowed to vote, BJP miscreants launched an attack creating an atmosphere of chaos, following which CRPF opened fire leading to 5 TMC workers losing their lives,” the TMC said in a s t a t e m e n t . India leads US and China, administers 100 million COVID-19 vaccinations doses in 85 days New Delhi, India on Saturday (April 10, 2021) became the fastest country in the world to administer over 100 million doses of COVID-19 vaccines in a record 85 days. The Union Ministry announced about the milestone on April 10 which comes amid a rising uproar of shortage of COVID-19 vaccines by some states. The country is battling a second wave of the novel coronavirus infection. "Eight states account for 60.62 per cent of the total doses given so far in the country," the ministry said.As of Friday, as many as 34,15,055 vaccine doses were given. Out of which, 30,06,037 beneficia- ries were vaccinated across 46,207 sessions for 1st dose and 4,09,018 beneficiaries received 2nd dose of the vaccine. "These include 89,88,373 HCWs who have taken the 1st dose and 54,79,821 HCWs who have taken the 2nd dose, 98,67,330 FLWs (1st dose), 46,59,035 FLWs (2nd dose), 3,86,53,105 1st dose beneficiaries and 15,90,388 2nd dose beneficiaries more than 60 years old and 2,82,55,044 (1st dose) and 5,82,064 (2nd dose) beneficiaries aged 45 to 60," the ministry said in a statement. The Centre had undertaken a country-wide innoculation drive on January 16 providing vaccines for 1 crore healthcare workers and 2 crore frontline workers in the first phase. In the second phase, the COVID-19 vaccination drive was for people above 60 years and those aged 45 and above with comorbidities will began on March 1. Ten states including Maharashtra, Chhattisgarh, Uttar Pradesh, Delhi, Karnataka, Tamil Nadu, Kerala, Madhya Pradesh, Gujarat and Rajasthan have shown a rise in the COVID daily new cases, the ministry said. 6 OGWs of Lashkar-e-Toiba arrested in Sopore Municipal Councilors attack case New Delhi, Jammu and Kashmir Police have claimed to bust a Lashkar-e-Toiba network, believed to be behind the attack on Municipal Councillors and Police in north Kashmir's Sopore. At least six Lashkar terror associates have been arrested by the police. In a statement, the police claimed that Sopore Police busted the network involved in a terrorist attack on March 29, by apprehending the OGW's and seizing the bike used in the attack. On March 29th, after the killing of two Municipal councillors and police personnel, multiple 'Cordon and Search Operations' were launched by the Sopore Police along with other security forces at suspected locations Dangepora, Brath Kalan, Sidiq Colony Sopore, Model Town, Batpora. Police picked up various suspects for questioning during which one suspect, an Over Ground Worker (OGW), identified as Ashiq Ahmad Pandith of Dangerpora, revealed that terrorist named Mudasir Pandith aka Maaz along with a foreign terrorist named aka Asrar before the terrorist attack had stayed at his residence from March 25-28 and had planned the entire terrorist attack. Furthermore, during the questioning, the name of another suspect, Junaid Ahmad Shusha of Model Town, Sopore, came to the fore. He disclosed that he came into contact with Mudasir Pandith aka Maaz in November 2020 at the residence of his cousin Umair Ashiq in Model Town, Sopore. Mudasir Pandith aka Maaz along with his two foreign terrorists aka Ahmad and aka Abu Sariya stayed for the night on the instructions of Sayeed Imran, an OGW of LeT outfit.Junaid Ahmad Shusha and Umair Ashiq were convinced by Mudasir Pandith to work for Lashkar and they were introduced to Sajid Ali, the PoK handler of Lashkar. CMYK New Delhi, The Enforcement Directorate (ED) on Friday said that it has attached properties worth Rs 77.65 crore of Sunlight Housing Development Private Ltd and its directors in connection with its money laundering probe into the Mack Star bank fraud case of HDIL promoters Rakesh Wadhawan and Sarang Wadhawan, and others. An ED official said that the agency attached movable and immovable assets in the form of five commercial properties admeasuring approximately 32,300 square feet area in Kaledonia building, Andheri (East), Mumbai and two residential flats admeasuring approximately 3,960 square feet area each, located at Atlantis Building, Andheri (W), Mumbai and movable assets in form of seized cash of Rs 1.40 crore under the Prevention of Money Laundering Act (PMLA). The ED registered a case of money laundering on the basis of an FIR registered by the CBI for siphoning off the loan to the tune of Rs 200 crore sanctioned by Yes Bank to Mack Star Marketing Pvt Ltd, by showing it for fictitious purpose. Earlier, the ED initiated a probe against Housing Development Infrastructures Ltd (HDIL), the Wadhawans, and Joy Thomas, who is CMD of PMC Bank Ltd, and others on the basis of FIR registered by Economic Offences Wing of Mumbai Police. The ED has already attached properties worth Rs 366.3 crore along with seizure of Rs 63.78 crore. The official said that during investigation, it was revealed that the seven commercial properties in Kaledonia building, owned by Mack Star, were fraudulently sold or transferred to Mukesh Doshi through his company, Sunlight Housing Development Pvt Ltd(SHDPL) at wrongful loss to Mack Star worth Rs 77.65 crore approximately by Wadhawans in connivance with SHDPV and its Director. “Thus, Rakesh Wadhawan and Sarang Wadhawan cheated the Mack Star Marketing Pvt Ltd. by illegally selling above said properties without consent of the majority shareholder (DE Shaw Group which holds 83.36 per cent shares) of Mack Star Marketing Pvt Ltd.
