The CCS rules, specifically Rule 16, prevent government servants from making investments or engaging in activities that could influence their official duties or create a conflict of interest. “The Field Manager kept GIDC in the dark about his family member bidding for the tender, floated by the Corporation. The family member even managed to get the contract, which was pertaining to road construction,” the official said. Apparently, the contract went to Vivesh Construction – the one owned by Tuenkar’s mother. The contract was for the construction of IDC road at Honda-Sattari industrial estate. The heavy rainfall exposed the poor quality of the road. “The newly constructed road got washed-off and the field manager Mohammed Anwar Baig claimed that it happened due to heavy rains and flooding. This has raised questions about the oversight and quality control during construction. “Since both the cases are inter-linked and to ensure that there is no tempering of evidences, we have placed both the field managers under suspension,” the officer explained. 3RD TEST: IN-FORM INDIA AIMS TO CAPITALISE VS ENGLAND In-form Indian batters eye success on a tricky pitch as Bumrah-led attack looks to test unsettled England in Lord's Test on Thursday SERIES LEVEL THE GOAN I NETWORK PANAJI In the suo motu PIL concerning illegal constructions across Goa, the High Court of Bombay at Goa on Wednesday granted a final six weeks extension to panchayats and municipalities to file compliance reports on the action initiated so far.
