Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Saturday said that the Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA), which was passed by the Parliament in December 2019, will be notified ahead of the Lok Sabha elections. He also clarified that CAA is not a law that takes away citizenship and stated that “the minorities of this country, in particular the Muslim brothers, are being misled and provoked”. Shah tweeted on ‘X’ that “the notification of CAA will happen soon”. He also shared a clip of his recent TV interview, in which he declared that the notification would happen before the elections. During the programme in Gopalpura, the PM will dedicate and lay the foundation stone of development projects worth around Rs 7,500 crores. These projects are related to Pradhan Mantri Sadak, rail, electricity and water resources. Modi will reach Gopalpura at 12.20 pm. He will lay the foundation stone for the CM Rise School along with giving 1.75 lakh right letters under the Swamitva Yojana. He will issue Rs 55.9 crore to 559 villages under the Pradhan Mantri Adarsh Gram Yojana. The sum will be used for various kinds of construction activities.
