After the meeting with the poll panel, Mr Kejriwal, speaking to reporters, alleged that the BJP is working on a conspiracy to get the votes of thousands of people deleted from the electoral rolls. Sharpening his attack, the AAP chief hit out at the saffron party, alleging that it was targeting the poor, Dalits and those who reside in the slums and unauthorised colonies, by conspiring to get their names struck off from the voter lists. Mr Kejriwal informed that the party has submitted, before the poll panel, 3,000 pages of evidence, claiming as to how the BJP is conspiring to delete names from the voters' lists. He alleged that the BJP discretely submitted the application to the Commission to delete voters' names from the list. Mr Kejriwal further said: "We told the EC how a BJP member did the work of deleting the votes of 11,000 people in the Shahdara area." The AAP chief informed that the Central Election Commission has taken cognisance of the party's complaints and assured to take action. Highlighting the importance of a person's right to vote, Mr Kejriwal further said that a vote is the basis of a person's citizenship. He stated that by taking away the right to vote from a person, it is like snatching away a person's right to live in the country. Mr Kejriwal stated that there were several government benefits applicable through a person's identity as a voter. The AAP chief also said in East Delhi's Shahdara, a person, who is an office bearer with the BJP, gave an application to delete votes of over 11,000 persons.He said the AAP leaders have requested the Commission to stop this mass deletion of names. (Page 10) Bengaluru techie's wife, her kin booked for abetment of suicide STATESMAN NEWS SERVICE BENGALURU, 11 DECEMBER After a 34-year-old techie committed suicide in Bengaluru, an FIR has been registered against his wife and her family members for allegedly harassing him, police said on Wednesday. They said the FIR has been registered against the deceased's wife Nikita Singhania, mother-in-law Nisha Singhania, brother-inlaw Anurag Singhania and his wife's uncle Sushil Singhania, Subhash was found hanging at his house in Bengaluru on Monday. He left behind a 24-page suicide note and a 90-minute video wherein he alleged that his wife and her kin filed false cases against him and his family. for abetment of suicide. “The FIR was lodged at the Marathahalli police station in Bengaluru following a complaint by the brother of the deceased Atul Subhash,” a senior police officer said. According to the complaint, Subhash married Nikita in 2019 and they had a child together. The complaint alleges that the four accused filed a false case against the techie after his divorce and demanded Rs 3 crore for the settlement of the case. Subhash was found hanging at his house in Bengaluru on Monday. He reportedly left behind a 24-page suicide and an almost 90-minute long video wherein he accused his wife and her family members of filing false cases against him and his family.
