The book ‘Curse of Grass’ is written by an award winning writer Dr. Ira Saxsena. It contains a story of Bishnoi women who fought bravely against the royal guards to save trees. The story is of the Thar region in Rajasthan where Bishnoi women, their children accompanied by the men folk, clung to the trees to protect them. The movement was named as Chipko Movement. It was the act started by the folks to save the environment so that they can avoid the growth of Thar Dessert. It is a heart touching story, where people sacrificed their lives to save their motherland from getting barren. Inspired by an incident took place in 1730 A.D., the tale gives us the message of saving our environment before it gets too late.
