Below are the highlights of the conversation between Swiftnlift Business Magazine and Aquascape Engineers. Aquascape Engineers was founded 30 years ago and is into manufacturing fountain nozzles and accessories since its Aerospace Division was founded in 2017. We are glad to share this exclusive interview with all the readers.

Tell us about your company. Its vision and mission.

Aquascape Engineers Pvt Ltd is one of an Indian AS9100D Certified Company that specializes in manufacturing of blades, rotating components like BLISK and IMPELLER for small turbojet engines, surveillance drone turbine jet engine, unmanned aerial vehicles (UAV projects) that are known to be the high precision components with complex geometries ensuring that the mentioned product specifications are met on time for the aerospace industries.

We have invested in world-class 2 Axis to 5 Axis machinery from Mazak, DMG Mori & CMM from Zeiss. NX CAD/CAM software for Design & Manufacturing & Full ERP system to ensure proper traceability.

Our achievement in the marketplace has been driven by our all-encompassing commitment to giving the most elevated levels of client care, and all of our employees are focused on offering top tier quality support, with the quickest pivot times conceivable, and at a cutthroat expense.

What were the constraints you faced at the time of inception?

Aerospace Industry is an arising industry, so it was challenging to develop and handle first of kind systems and technologies that need to get by in the business and to make an imprint with no external help, yet our definite R and D assisted us with accomplishing what was predicted by us. Globalization presented numerous difficulties for the association however we utilized global integration strategies to defeat these difficulties. The challenge additionally was to focus on developing solutions to shorten product life cycles. The ascent in the expenses of different raw materials and other input costs was additionally a challenge at first yet we could effectively beat it by proceeding with market research. Further, there was a deluge of new competition by the consolidation of European and other foreign aerospace markets. This has presented equivalent accomplices who are financially and technologically competitive.

One of the critical challenges for us was accomplishing the correct degree of operational excellence to support production growth while keeping up quality and monitoring costs. It’s a quick-moving world we live in nowadays, and digital is the way things complete particularly in business. And just having it in place doesn’t always guarantee success. It requires innovation on the shop floor, better customer experience online, stronger engagement, and a supply chain system that has the precision to satisfy orders all working together.

What services do you provide to the customers?

We offer help in manufacturing critical components that contain a tolerance of up to 5μ. We capably manufacture components with thin wall thickness, complex geometries containing extremely low profile tolerances and we even manufacture components from hardening material like high nickel alloys, titanium etc. on exceptional machines i.e., Mazak, DMG Mori. Additionally, we provide inspection services up to the tolerance of 1.5μ on the Carl Zeiss machinery that is subsequently imported from Japan and Germany. We also offer help in designing, manufacturing and supply of precision machined components and assemblies for various industries and precision machining for aerospace.

How do you stay up to date with recent trends in the industry?

We have put resources into the world’s best technologies and our workshop is under controlled temperature so we are able to manufacture critical components proficiently and furthermore, we take part in exhibitions organised by some significant names in the business and we continue to do definite R and D to keep ourselves updated.

We likewise give opportune training to our engineers and for the equivalent; we invite leading trainers in the field to our company. We are taking a tremendous jump towards the revolutionary industry version 4.0, in which human intercession will be zero and therefore, we will actually be able to control human blunders and consistent production. We additionally began procuring types of machinery/robots that will help us to enter the industry version 4.0.

What makes you stand different from those who are in the same business?

The company gives state-of-the-art facilities that have special abilities to satisfy the most challenging prerequisites for aerospace-grade raw materials, dimensional tolerances and our consistency in manufacturing basic parts with flawlessness alongside keeping up the floor neatness. Additionally, we get into detailed analysis on the prerequisites raised by our esteemed clients and we give them the most ideal results successfully.

How do you manage to work in different areas?

The various regions like Commercial conversations, CAD/CAM Designing, Production Engineering and Quality Control Management is productively dealt with by our knowledgeable engineers, our skilled team has been operating the machines appropriately. Likewise, the leaders of the association propel them to work proficiently and give them training if necessary.

What level of accuracy and quality control you have in place while manufacturing?

While manufacturing the parts with accuracy we direct a detailed assessment after every single operation and we likewise update our inspection facilities consistently, for updated calibration and we additionally keep up the records of calibration and thus, we have effectively accomplished the ZERO rejection rates. The engineers recruited by us are careful in their respective fields and have a piece of immense information that assists us with keeping up our quality.

What are the daily responsibilities of an Aerospace Engineer?

Research and develop design specifications and use computer-aided design (CAD) software to create plans. Collate information, interpret data and publish the results of explicit projects in specialized report structure. Communicate technical and regulatory advice to clients, teams, suppliers and other professionals within the aerospace industry. Adds to the design, manufacturing, and testing of components related to drone, aircraft and UMV.

Studies proposed projects to assess safety and feasibility. Evaluates designs with regard to engineering principles, client prerequisites and environmental regulations. Delivers and presents prototypes and models for proposed plans. Conducts tests on prototypes and models. Inspects damaged or malfunctioning products of any to decide the issue and propose arrangements. Decide costs for financial feasibility. Aids the creation of manuals and investigating guides for the finished product. Organize with different teams to guarantee norms and timetables are met. Adds to the endeavours of the organization by achieving related tasks depending on the situation.

What are your upcoming projects?

At present we have started manufacturing critical components for drones i.e. Impellers, Blisks, Blades etc. and in long term, we are taking up projects to manufacture components for the engines of civilian aircraft that are gigantic in size but the critical and precision are similar to the projects we are working on.

Tell us about your accomplishments.

We have developed critical components for Major OEMs and they are more than satisfied with the results delivered by us. We have clients like HAL and we have efficiently developed valve assemblies for Jaguar Drop Tank. We have successfully achieved all the criteria, from designs to final assembly as per the customer requirements. Also, we have been efficiently maintaining zero rejection rates for the majority of our overseas clients.
