Post Dussehra, every Indian across the globe begins preparing for what is the most anticipated festival of the year—the festival of lights. Celebrated to mark the victory of good over evil, it is when people are in a joyous mood and are getting together with family and friends to spend quality time with their loved ones. They’re also indulging in the annual Diwali cleaning of their homes and offices, shopping for new clothes, and relishing some delicious sweets and savouries.
To keep the spirit of the festival going, we got in touch with a few families from various cities to find out how they celebrate the festival. While some share their most treasured childhood memories of the festival, others talk about playing cards at the various taash parties, and also share what their favourite Diwali gift has been.
