The symbolism of both the festivals — the triumph of light over darkness, good over evil, knowledge over ignorance, hope over despair — continues to resonate, and seems particularly salient in the last couple of years. Overall, festivities in India have all the charm, grandeur and splendour that illuminate our minds and hearts, while promoting much-needed peace, harmony, and brotherhood in society.
