January 26, an important day for all Indians, was the day we adopted the constitution that made the nation a republic, after a long hard battle for freedom. Today, Republic Day is celebrated by over a billion Indians all over the world. Celebrations, not only bring everyone together, but are a tribute to the country and its rich culture and diversity. Apart from a colourful and vibrant parade, in Delhi, the commemoration ends with the beating of the retreat, organised by the Ministry of Defence.
