ABOUT THE BOOK • The Book of Practical Record in Physiology is meant primarily for MBBS, BDS which will also prove useful to students of BMS, BHMS, MD Physiology and other Allied Health Subjects like Physiotherapy, Nursing etc. • The book conforms to the syllabi and courses laid down by the Medical and Dental Councils of India which are followed by all colleges. • The important topics covered include Haematology experiments, Human Experiments and Animal Experiments. • This is probably the only record that allows students to record their experiments and freely express themselves scientifically. • This would serve as a quick revision during preparations for exams. The need is felt as there is no standardized record for students in our medical colleges. A standardized record has been designed in line with the new curriculum policy of Medical Council of India. This record shall bring about uniformity in all medical colleges for practicals in Physiology. The objectives include: 1. To inculcate the habit of inquiry in students by asking questions as to why they want to do particular experiment. 2. To develop skills using precise instruments and techniques. 3. Make use of their senses like seeing, touching (palpation), hearing (auscultation) and tapping (percussion) during examination of human organ systems. 4. Ultimate aim is to elicit and prove the authenticity of particular well established technique, concept or physiological phenomenon. 5. Think about the application of the experiment done and its clinical use. 6. Do and learn interactive method of learning for the students in the laboratory.
