We deem it a proud privilege to have accepted the assignment of revising and updating the original text solely written by a veteran Pediatric Teacher compiling all his lecture notes in Pediatrics over decades. Though we were impressed with the presentation of the contents of various chapters, we felt that the book needs updating with specialists review. We approached selected veteran specialists from all over the country to review the specialty chapters. Impressed by the hard work of Dr Chowdhry all of them readily agreed to review and update the chapters assigned to them. Being a compilation of ‘Lecture Notes’, Dr Balram Chowdhry has provided ONLY sketchy notes. All attempts have been made by the Specialist Reviewers and Chapter Editors to avoid descriptive format while reviewing and editing and retain the original text updated.
