Election time is here already! Five years have gone by so quickly. The stage is set for the mother of all election battles as 1.2 billion Indians go to vote to elect their next government, and their would-be Prime Minister. For the last couple of months, all one has heard is political conversations – at parties, on Facebook, through Tweets, and through the various media. Who will win? While there have been many shortfalls by the present government, in their defense - they have been trying very hard to restructure the existing “chalta hai” attitude and we have seen promising results in many spheres. However, on ground, people have been unhappy with the demonetization, the unclear implementation of the GST, as well as unemployment, and profitability in many industries. Well, when drastic changes take place, there’s bound to be abundant chaos too.

For us, it’s business as usual and we move into the second quarter, bringing you impressive stories of Sindhis from all around the world. In the pages that follow, you will find artist Kishin Awatramani, designer of a bespoke menswear brand Morley Patel, Singapore-based professor and author Kishore Mahbubani, and human rights lawyer turned entrepreneur Mona Motwani.

Touching on nearly every career option out there, this issue goes on to feature co-founder of The Mom’s Co., Mohit Sadaani, Karachi-based standup comedian Natalia Gul Jilani, architect Brij Panjwani, and co-founder at Storyloom Films - Keya Vaswani. We also spoke with Nikhil Dudani, the man behind Feat. Artists – a model management agency promoting unconventional beauty, Neeta and Aashnee Gajaria of Meditourz, young pilot Poonam Devrakhyani, chocolatier Prateek Bakhtiani, and the three women behind DI Public Relations – Divya Israni Parekh, Dipika Israni Panjabi, and Ektaa Bahirwani Hira.

And that’s not all. This quarter, you will also meet restaurateur Pawan Shahri, the talent behind Raabel silver jewelry Madhur Bharwani, music therapist Roshan Mansukhani, sound technologist Sagar Gwallani, Nike runner and personal trainer Mishti Khatri, physiotherapist Priyanka Talreja, public speaking entrepreneur Aditya Madnani, and founder of Medvigil Divya Chandiramani – all reaffirming the fact that anything is possible if you want it bad enough!

I hope these stories leave you inspired and longing for more.
