Apparel’s Fair Special issue, titled ‘Festive Fables’, threw the spotlight on the festive vigour that is not uncommon during this time of the year. Much of the magazine’s coverage was centred on the goings-on of CMAI’s 69th National Garment Fair, written under ‘Fair Update’.

Apart from this, the July 2019 issue has some other insightful features in store, including those on the versatile running stitch, the rise in demand for linen, monsoon clothing trends, the role of textile museums and galleries in preserving age-old crafts, the dialogue around living wage, how brands are now focusing on delivering a wholesome experience to consumers, the rise and rise of B2B platforms, the comeback of the indigo dye, and the need for brands to put words into action.

Our ‘Going Green’ section, on the other hand, focuses on how brands are adopting ethical and eco-friendly nuances to contribute to the overall sustainability of the fashion industry. The ‘Industry Insights’ segment contains some pertinent information on India’s increasing garment imports, sustainable apparel production, and job creation in the industry. An interesting lowdown on innovation in denims forms a part of the ‘Trend Talk’ section. ‘New Avenues’ illustrates how MSMEs (micro and small and medium enterprises) can help in boosting India’s import substitution. ‘Fashion Speak’ spotlighted the budding design talent found in fashion institutes in and around Mumbai.

Our last segment, ‘Regulars’, gives an overview of everything happening in the apparel industry worldwide, whether it’s the upcoming events, emerging brands, current trends, and all the important news.

The magazine regularly carries articles by industry experts, interviews with the who’s who of the industry, many of whom are members of the CMAI, and features upcoming and established brands and their latest collections. Apparel also exclusively covers any event hosted, organised or supported by the CMAI, including the bi-annual National Garment Fair, which is one of the largest apparel trade fairs in the sub-continent...
